COIDA stands for the ‘Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act’. If you are injured whilst you are doing your work or become sick as a result of your work, you can claim compensation from the Compensation Fund.

The Unemployment Insurance Fund or ‘UIF’ provides short–term financial relief to workers who lose their jobs; are unable to work because of illness; or need to take maternity or adoption leave.
